The Origin of Mayan Coffee

Mayan CoffeeThe Mayan Coffee is produced by the Maya Center Maya Museum. It all came about after the official opening of the Maya Museum. Due to the fact that we wanted to be a different Museum, we had to do something different from the other museum. We started to do a hands-on experience activity for our visitors at the museum.

Here, we show our tourists how to make Fresh handmade Corn Tortillas, a typical Mayan staple food, how to make hot ground chili peppers, Mayan biscuits and real Maya Coffee.

Toasting Mayan CoffeeAlmost all of our visitors want to see how Mayan Coffee is made. All enjoy the fun of making coffee and they take some home with them. However, we at the Museum, still have a large amount of coffee that we don’t know what to do with. We start to give away coffee to our friends. I started packing coffee into small containers I could find and eventually something came across my mind – Start Packing Coffee!!!

I start to look for bottles and started packing coffee and kept the name Mayan Coffee and this was what give birth to “Mayan Coffee”
