At the DINER, we serve good Belizean dishes with authentic Mayan taste. We operate
a small bar that serves beverages
such as Belizean liquors
and cocktails. Our SNACK SHOP
inside
provides
for back-packers
and visitors
that are on the go.
Heliadora Bolon (former Vice-Chairlady) of the Maya Center Women's Group,
is from one of the many families who were removed from the Cockscomb Jaguar Reserve Park, to make way for the Jaguars. She has worked very hard to help others progress, by helping to establish the Maya Center Women's Group.
Today, we take the opportunity to WELCOME Miss Heliadora Bolon to the Mayan Wood Handicraft Center. We certainly need her expertise. Already she has joined hands
with friends and family members
and established the COCKSCOMB DINER & SNACK SHOP in Maya Center Village.
They provide our visitors and tourist with fresh squeeze orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice and other fresh tropical fruit juices such as papaya, mango, sour sap and tamarind. Also quick snacks such as tamales, pandas, corn tortillas (hand made), sandwiches and burgers.
You can also get
breakfast, lunch and dinner at
Cockscomb Diner or
you can visit
Nuuck Che'il
Cottages restaurant or Mejentzil restaurant.

We have high-speed Internet, making it easy
to communicate with friends or surf the web
from our Internet Café.
-
Traveling to and from the Jaguar reserve on
that 8km hike is made much easier now as we
provide Taxi service.
-
Our Gift shop, Mayan Wood Handicraft Center is owned and managed by myself, Julio Saqui. This gift and souvenir center is happy to present our visitors with authentic Mayan hand-made souvenirs. We specialize in wood and black slate handicrafts. We use only Belizean wood and we hope to employ more youths from the Mayan Village as the business grows to help and learn in the production of beautiful wood gifts, bed lamps & hand carved decorated doors,
tables and corner tables. Please see our Catalog to make your order. You can also buy typical Mayan dresses here, Mayan masks and great ceramic work, greatly priced too.

Carvings:
Heliadora
Bolon,
who is purchasing handicrafts from
other women who do not have a place to sell their arts and crafts, will be
helping
them to promote their products. She will be
teaching them more creative work, such as carving and designing on black Slate,
ceramics and wood.
Images on the carvings include jaguars, birds,
and Maya designs. Also many other local Mayan designs as
shown in the photo (left).
We ask you the visitor to help these women progress by supporting their authentic Mayan hand produts found at the Mayan Wood Handicraft Center. These
products
are made from local
materials from the Cockscomb jungle, carefully extracted. You will also
find gift items that will make very special gifts,
such as necklaces, bracelets and ear rings
that are unique and authentic Mayan. These gifts
can be bought at our gift center or we can mail
them to you in small or large quantity, at whole sale
prices.
